Laura Buermann
Group Fitness instructor
Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Pittsburgh. She initially chose to study movement out of a desire to better understand and connect with exercise—something she valued but found challenging outside of structured sports or playful movement. Her relationship with exercise shifted in 2013 during her undergraduate studies when she discovered yoga. The mindful, intentional nature of the practice offered the grounding she needed to connect more deeply with movement. Since then, she has applied that mindful approach across a wide range of fitness disciplines, helping others find their own way in. Laura centers her teaching on mindful movement, self-agency, and empowerment through embodiment. Whether working one-on-one or in group settings, she believes in meeting people where they are and guiding them toward building a sustainable relationship with movement. She has taught yoga, cycling, Pilates, weight training, and personal fitness at the University of Pittsburgh and in the Pittsburgh area. In addition to her background in personal training and group fitness, Laura is a certified health coach and Reiki practitioner. She also trained at Carnegie Mellon University in crystal sound bowl healing, which she integrates into her wellness offerings to support deep relaxation and recovery.
